Usually just called the ‘computers course’. The course covers range of basic computer skills including an introduction to R programming language and procedural data analysis.

Essential tasks on the computer including image manipulation, vector graphics, directory structures and file management, working with plain text and the fundamentals of programming are topics included in this course.

Attendance and participation is required to pass the class.

As many other courses in the Paleobiology master program rely on R, this course is recommended for every student. It takes place before any other course in the program (first half of October), before the actual start of the first semester.
